Ähtäri is “Truly in the peace of nature”, but still close to good services. Our city is small and cozy and it’s not too far away from big growth centers. The level of services has been maintained thanks to a versatile economic structure.

Ähtäri is a nationally known tourist destination, which has created high-quality leisure activities. It’s not bad that there are almost 200 lakes in our region. Thus, the home of many can be found by the lake. The housing supply is good and the rent level is not high.

Ähtäri Zoo

Ähtärin Zoo is Finland’s first natural animal park, where you can see about 60 different species.

Ähtäri Zoo is especially known for bears, but you can also see many other exciting species of the coniferous forest zone, such as wolverines, wolves, lynxes and the highly endangered snow leopard.

The park’s unique nature trail runs in the middle of beautiful nature, and along the way there are, among other things, nice campfire places where you can eat snacks and fry sausages.

Flowpark Ähtäri Zoo

Flowpark is an ecological adventure amusement park where you can test whether your edge can last. The adventure tracks are built on living trees without damaging them. The motor of the activity is the person himself!

Numerous different tasks are handled at a height of almost twenty meters. The tasks include upper ropeways e.g. swaying paths, liana jumps, swings and cable slides.

Flowpark is intended for adventure-minded people of all ages, from 7 years old and up – there’s a challenge for both urban and experienced wilderness lovers!
